Overview
If you receive an “Is not an e-mail” error while trying to log in or register in the ButterflyMX mobile app, the issue is usually related to how the email address was entered rather than a problem with the account itself.
In many cases, the email appears correct at first glance but includes a small formatting issue. The most common example is an accidental space added after the domain, such as after “.com”. Even though this space may not be obvious, it can prevent the system from recognizing the email as a valid address.
Why This Happens
Email validation in the mobile app requires the email address to be entered exactly in the correct format. If an extra space or hidden character is added before or after the email, the system may reject it and display the “Is not an e-mail” message.
This often happens when:
The email address is copied and pasted
Autofill inserts outdated or slightly incorrect information
A space is accidentally added at the end of the email address
How to Fix the Issue
If you see this error, try the following steps:
Check for extra spaces
Make sure there are no spaces before or after your email address.Type your email address manually
Instead of copying and pasting or using autofill, type the email address directly into the field.Try signing in again
Once the email is entered correctly, attempt the login or registration process again.
