Overview
If you are not receiving visitor calls in the ButterflyMX mobile app on your iPhone, the issue is usually related to app login status, notification permissions, or internet connectivity. These settings can prevent calls from appearing even when the system is functioning normally.
The steps below can help restore call notifications on your device.
Step 1 - Refresh Your App Login
In some cases, the app’s authentication token may expire or fail to refresh correctly. Signing out and logging back into the app can restore the connection.
To do this:
Open the ButterflyMX mobile app
Tap Account
Scroll to the bottom and select Sign Out
Log back into the app using your credentials
Test whether calls are now coming through
Step 2 - Check Notification Settings
Your iPhone must allow the ButterflyMX app to display notifications for incoming calls.
Follow these steps:
Open the Settings app on your iPhone
Scroll down and tap ButterflyMX
Tap Notifications
Make sure Allow Notifications is enabled
Confirm that notifications are enabled for the Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners
Make sure Sounds and Badges are also enabled
Step 3 - Verify Your Internet Connection
Visitor calls require a stable internet connection. If the connection is weak or unstable, calls may not appear in the app.
Try switching networks to test:
If you are connected to Wi-Fi, switch to mobile data
If you are using mobile data, try connecting to Wi-Fi
After switching networks, test whether calls are received.
If the Issue Continues
If you are still not receiving calls after completing these steps, additional investigation may be needed.
When contacting support, include:
The date and time of the most recent call you expected but did not receive
The model of your iPhone and iOS version
This information helps the support team review system logs and determine what may be preventing the call from reaching your device.
