Overview
If you are not receiving visitor calls in the ButterflyMX mobile app on your Android device, the issue is often related to app login status, notification permissions, or internet connectivity. These settings can prevent calls from appearing even when the system is functioning correctly.
The troubleshooting steps below can help restore call notifications on your device.
Step 1 - Refresh Your App Login
Sometimes the app’s authentication token can expire, which may prevent calls from reaching your device. Signing out and back into the app can refresh your connection.
To do this:
Open the ButterflyMX mobile app
Tap Account
Scroll to the bottom and select Sign Out
Log back into the app using your credentials
Test whether calls are now coming through
Step 2 - Check Notification Settings
Your Android notification settings must allow the ButterflyMX app to display incoming calls.
Follow these steps:
Open your phone’s Settings
Tap Apps or Applications
Select ButterflyMX
Tap Notifications
Make sure Show Notifications is enabled
Confirm that notifications such as Incoming Calls and General notifications are turned on
Ensure that sound, vibration, or pop-up alerts are allowed if available
Step 3 - Verify Your Internet Connection
Visitor calls rely on a stable internet connection. If the connection is weak or unstable, calls may not appear in the app.
Try switching networks to test:
If you are connected to Wi-Fi, switch to mobile data
If you are using mobile data, try connecting to Wi-Fi
After switching networks, test whether calls are received.
If the Issue Continues
If you are still not receiving calls after completing the steps above, additional investigation may be required.
When contacting support, include:
The date and time of the most recent call you expected but did not receive
The type of device and Android version you are using
This information helps the support team review system logs and determine what may be preventing the call from reaching your device.
