Context:
The Cameras tab in ButterflyMX OS brings live video, recorded footage, and access events together in one place. You can use it to monitor camera health, organize cameras, investigate activity, view multiple camera feeds, and export footage.
Note: The events shown in the Cameras tab are currently access events, such as successful and denied door releases.
What to do:
- After logging into the ButterflyMX OS with your Admin credentials, click on "Cameras" in the left navigation bar.
In-OS guided tour
- The first time you open the updated Cameras experience, an in-product tour introduces camera organization, the Events panels, and playback tools. If you dismiss the tour, use the Guided tour button to open it again.
View camera status
- When you open the Cameras tab, camera status alerts appear at the top of the page. If a camera needs attention, select the applicable status to open its hardware page, where you can review the camera and begin troubleshooting.
- From the Cameras landing page, you can also:
-
Select Live Monitor to open the live-monitoring experience previously called Security Monitor. This allows you to view live streams of multiple cameras at once.
- Select Devices to access camera hardware settings.
- Select Exports to access a log of past export requests.
-
Navigate the Cameras page
- The Cameras page contains two main panels:
-
Cameras: Find and open a specific camera or camera group.
-
Events: Review access activity across the property to begin or continue an investigation.
-
-
You can expand either panel for more room or collapse it when it is not needed.
