How to Order Hardware and Accessories from the ButterflyMX Online Store

Need to order additional key fobs, keycards, vehicle tags, or other accessories for your property? The ButterflyMX Online Store makes it easy to purchase hardware and accessories directly online. This article walks you through everything you need to know to place an order.

What You Can Order

The ButterflyMX Online Store carries a full range of hardware and accessories for your property, including:

  • Video Intercoms (8" and 12" surface and recessed models)
  • Access Control Readers (keypad readers, mullion readers, and more)
  • Accessories:
    • Encrypted key fobs
    • Encrypted keycards
    • Windshield tags
    • Headlight tags
    • Fob and keycard programmer
    • Windshield and headlight tag programmer

Before You Begin

  • The ButterflyMX Online Store is available to existing ButterflyMX clients only
  • Some items (such as programmers and backboxes) may show as "Sold Out" — if the item you need is unavailable, contact your Client Success Manager for assistance.
  • Make sure your fobs, keycards, and tags are compatible with your existing ButterflyMX hardware before ordering. If you are unsure, reach out to ButterflyMX Support before placing your order.

How to Place an Order

  1. Go to the ButterflyMX Online Store at shop.butterflymx.com.

  2. Browse by category or click Shop All Products to see the full catalog.

  3. Click on the product you want to order.

  4. If the product has variants (such as quantity options), use the dropdown or selector to choose the right option for your property.

  5. Click Add to Cart.

  6. When you are ready to check out, click View Cart at the top of the page to review your items, then click Check out.

  7. Enter your shipping information and payment details to complete your order.

  8. Once your order is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order details. Your tracking number will be available once the order has shipped.

Tips and Notes

  • Tracking your order: Your tracking number will be sent to you via email once your order ships. If you need help locating a tracking number, contact your Client Success Manager.
  • Programming your accessories: Key fobs, keycards, windshield tags, and headlight tags must be programmed before use. Visit the Property Manager Resources page for programming guides, or contact ButterflyMX Support for assistance.
  • Credential numbers: For security purposes, credential numbers are not printed on key fobs or keycards.
  • Compatibility: ButterflyMX fobs and keycards use MiFare DESFire EV2/EV3 encryption at 13.56 MHz. If you are unsure whether a product is compatible with your system, contact ButterflyMX Support before ordering.
  • Sold-out items: If an accessory you need is currently out of stock, contact your Client Success Manager for alternatives or restock timing.
