Overview
If you've been sent a ButterflyMX Visitor Pass, you can save it to Apple Wallet for quick, convenient access when you arrive at the property.
How Visitor Passes Work
Visitor Passes allow guests to access a building using a QR code or PIN code. When a resident creates a Visitor Pass and sends it to you, you'll receive it via:
- Text message (SMS)
The message will include a link to your Visitor Pass, where you can view the QR code and save the pass to Apple Wallet.
Add the Visitor Pass to Apple Wallet
- Open the email or text message containing your Visitor Pass.
- Tap the link in the message to open your Visitor Pass.
- On the Visitor Pass page, you'll see your QR code and pass details.
- Tap the Add to Apple Wallet button on the pass page.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete adding the pass to Apple Wallet.
- The Visitor Pass will now be saved in Apple Wallet and ready to use when you arrive at the property.
Tips
- Your pass has an expiration. The Visitor Pass is only valid during the dates and times set by the resident who created it. Make sure to use it within the active window.
- No app download required. You do not need the ButterflyMX app to use a Visitor Pass — the entire experience works through your phone's browser and Apple Wallet.
- Can't find the message? Check your spam or junk folder, or ask the resident to resend the pass.
