Understanding Device Status in the ButterflyMX OS
To check if your intercom is online:
- Log in to the ButterflyMX OS
- Navigate to Devices in the left sidebar.
- Locate your intercom in the list.

Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1: Check the Screen
If the intercom screen is ON:
- Double-tap the ButterflyMX logo (or custom logo) on the display.
- A diagnostic message will appear explaining why the intercom is offline.

If the screen is OFF, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Restart the Intercom
For Legacy Intercoms
- Locate the pinhole to the left of the audio jack on the intercom.
- Insert a paper clip into the pinhole.
- Hold until the screen turns black (the device will restart in 40-60 seconds).
For Next-Gen (Monarch) Intercoms
- Locate the ADA button at the bottom center of the intercom.
- Press and hold the ADA button for 20 seconds until the screen turns off.
- Press and hold again for 5-7 seconds to power it back on.
- Allow 1-2 minutes for the intercom to fully restart and reconnect.
Step 3: Reboot Your Router
- Unplug the router's power cable.
- Wait 2 minutes.
- Plug the power cable back in.
- Allow the router to fully restart (wait 2-3 minutes).
- Return to Step 1 and check if the intercom has come back online.
Step 4: Power Cycle the Intercom (If Restart Fails)
- Disconnect the intercom from its power source.
- Wait 1-2 minutes.
- Reconnect the power source.
- Allow 2-3 minutes for the intercom to fully boot and reconnect.
- Check the device status in the ButterflyMX OS.

- Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to confirm there are no outages.
- Verify that other devices on your network have internet connectivity.
