Context:
Occasionally, you may encounter a hardware or software issue with the intercom that requires you to power cycle it. The following article walks you through two ways you can do this.
What to do:
Option 1: Unplug the Power Supply
Locate the Power Supply:
- The power supply is typically located in the electrical room or IDF closet. Disconnect it from the power source (AC to DC transformer) for at least five minutes to ensure the intercom is completely powered down. Remember, if your intercom is connected to a UPS (battery backup), verify that all display and indicator lights are off. If you are uncertain of the power supply's location, please consult your maintenance team or the original installer.

Option 2: Unplug the Power Supply from the Back of the Intercom
Unlock the Intercom:
- Use the provided security key to unlock the intercom by inserting the key at the bottom and turning it clockwise by 90 degrees. The key will stay in position, indicating the intercom is unlocked.
Remove the Intercom Display:
- Carefully slide the display upwards until it detaches from the back plate, allowing the intercom to hang from its arm for easier access.
Access the IO Port:
- Remove the cover of the IO port using a Torx screwdriver to expose the connections. Locate the power connection in the upper left corner, use a flat screwdriver to loosen the screws, and disconnect the power cable. This action will turn off the display. Wait for 5 minutes before reconnecting the power wires, which should reactivate the display once power is restored.
Reassemble the Intercom:
- Secure the cover back on the IO port, slide the display back into place, and lock the intercom back onto the back plate.
