Context
Every license plate read appears in Door Releases alongside your other access activity. This article explains what each event shows and how to read it.
Where LPR events appear
LPR events are not in a separate log. From the main menu, go to Activity > Activity Log > Door Releases. LPR events appear here with every other access event at your property. To see vehicle activity on its own, set the Entry method filter to License plate.
What each event shows
The log displays these columns, left to right:

| Date and time | When the vehicle was captured. |
| Release type | Tenant, visitor, or delivery. Unauthorized vehicles show as Visitor. |
| Name | The resident the vehicle belongs to, or the visitor whose pass the plate is attached to. Unauthorized vehicles show a name of Unknown. |
| Unit | The unit associated with the resident or the pass. |
| Access point | The gate, garage, or entrance where the vehicle was captured. |
| Entry method | License plate for LPR events. Filter on this to isolate vehicle activity. |
| Release status | Whether access was granted or denied. |
| Photo | A thumbnail of the captured plate. Click it to open the full image and video. |
Open the photo to see the capture and video
Click the photo in the Photo column to open the event's captured image and video. Neither is visible from the log itself.
- The photo is a close up of the license plate showing the exact frame the system used. The system captures frames continuously as a vehicle approaches, and the image shown is the best capture used to make the access decision.
- The video is a one minute clip, the same type attached to other access events at cameras tied to access points.
The plate the system read and any vehicle details on file also appear here.
Clicking the photo is the fastest way to check a questionable read. If you can read the plate in the image and the logged characters do not match, that is a misread worth reporting.
Reading a denied event
A denied event still captures everything above. The difference is that the release type shows as Visitor with a name of Unknown, because the plate is not tied to any resident or active visitor pass.
A denied event does not always mean an unauthorized vehicle. Common causes include a plate saved under the wrong state, a resident who has not added their vehicle yet, a visitor who was granted access without a license plate association, or a misread.
At properties using LPR for logging only, release status still reflects whether the vehicle was authorized, even though no gate is triggered.

Good to know
- Every detected vehicle gets its own event. If a second vehicle follows an authorized one through the gate, it is captured and logged separately.
- Events are retained even after a vehicle is removed. Removing a resident's vehicle does not delete their past activity.
