Context:
To sync your credentials from ButterflyMX to your dormakaba EVO LZ smart lock via Bluetooth, make sure your lock is already set up in "BLE/Offline Mode" using the Lyazon app, before following the steps below.
Step 1 - Add Credentials to ButterflyMX
- Property managers must program the necessary fobs or tenants into the ButterflyMX OS first before they can be synced to the lock.
- Refer to these instructions for guidance.
- Once active, tenants can update their PIN code or create a Visitor Pass from the ButterflyMX mobile app.
Step 2 - Sync Credentials to Lock via ButterflyMX App (must be at the lock)
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device and you have the latest version of the ButterflyMX app downloaded before proceeding. Please be aware that battery or wallet phone cases might interfere with the lock's Bluetooth connection. For syncing, kindly remove these cases.
After credentials have been created, follow the steps below to sync your lock:
When you are near the smart lock, open the ButterflyMX app

Select the smart lock you want to sync from the device list
The yellow icon indicates the lock has pending changes that need to be synced
When the lock details page loads, it will start downloading updates from the cloud. The screen will show "Getting Updates" during this process (it can take up to a minute, please wait):
- Once updates are ready, select "Synchronize lock."
- Place your phone flat on the lock to synchronize. Keep it still until it vibrates.
- The app will display "connected to the lock" once a connection is made.
- The lock may beep and flash yellow once complete
- You can now test your PIN or fob to confirm!
- Once updates are ready, select "Synchronize lock."
If you manage multiple locks, allow a few minutes for the new PIN to sync across all devices after making changes in the ButterflyMX app. Plan on restarting your phone every few syncs to clear cached data if you plan on updating a few locks at a time.
