Frequently asked questions
Why don’t I see the Favorites feature?
Favorites only appears if you have access to four or more access points. Because access is evaluated separately for each user, people at the same property may see different access points and features.
Are my favorites shared across my devices?
No. Favorites are stored locally on your device. If you use the same ButterflyMX account on another mobile device, you’ll need to set up your favorites again on that device.
Can I add smart locks to my favorites?
Yes. You can favorite any supported device that appears in your access point list, including smart locks.
Can residents reorder doors that are not favorites?
Yes. Reordering works within the favorites section and within the remaining list.
Does search cover all of a resident's doors?
Yes. Search runs across the resident's full set of access points, not just the ones currently loaded on screen.
Does this change how doors are unlocked?
No. Swipe to Open works exactly as it does today. Favorites only changes the order and findability of the list.
