Context: This process is used to push new credentials (like fobs) from the ButterflyMX system to the dormakaba EVO LZ lock using a temporary mobile internet hotspot.
Step 1: Add Credentials to ButterflyMX
- Program the necessary fobs or credentials into the ButterflyMX OS.
- Refer to these instructions for guidance.
Step 2: Prepare the Mobile Hotspot
- Power on the mobile internet hotspot and note its SSID and Password.
- Verification: Ensure the mobile hotspot meets the lock's network requirements.
Step 3: Connect the Lock to the Hotspot
A. If this is the FIRST time using this hotspot with the lock:
- While near the lock, open the Lyazon Utility mobile app and select Find Device.
- On the lock keypad, enter the command: * # * #
- In the Lyazon Utility app, select the lock that appears (e.g., saffire.XXXX).
- Wait for the lock details (photo, etc.) to populate.
- Scroll down and select the "Edit" button to enter and update the Hotspot's SSID / Password.
- Hit Apply.
- The lock will beep and reboot. Wait 90 seconds.
- Test connectivity with the command: ** 1 #
B. If this hotspot has been USED with the lock previously:
- Ensure the mobile hotspot is powered on and physically near the smart lock.
- Reboot the smart lock using the command: * # 9 #
- Confirm the rebooted lock is connected to the mobile hotspot by entering ** 1 # on the keypad (a blue/green light indicates connection).
Step 4: Download Credentials
- Once connected, allow the lock to download the pending credentials and process its event history. This typically takes about 10 minutes.
Step 5: Verify Credential Synchronization
- Option 1: Test the new credentials directly on the lock.

- Wait for the device details to populate and confirm that all keys have been synchronized.
