Context:
Follow the steps below to integrate your Dormakaba EVO LZ smart lock with ButterflyMX using a temporary mobile hotspot:
- Confirm Compatibility: Ensure your dormakaba EVO LZ online smart lock is listed in our Supported Smart Lock document.
- Network Requirements: A network connection is required for initial lock commissioning, firmware updates and to sync any user credentials from ButterflyMX OS to the locks. Confirm your temporary network or mobile hotspot can meet dormakaba's specific Wi-Fi requirements here, including 2.4ghz broadcast and 802.11b/g/n standard.
- Request Lyazon Account: Contact solarch@butterflymx.com to request your Lyazon account, which is necessary for commissioning your locks. Please provide your email address, contact name/phone number and building details in your Lyazon account request. Then follow these instructions carefully to create your account.
- Provide Unit Matrix: Provide your ButterflyMX contact with a property unit matrix (door details) using the template here.
-
Configure Mobile Hotspot: Work with the property to determine the Wi-Fi SSID/Password for the temporary network or mobile hotspot. Once the locks are commissioned, they store this SSID/Password and will automatically try to connect to it in the future.
- Post Integration: We recommend maintaining a pre-configured mobile hotspot on site to ensure a smooth experience should the property need to connect the lock to the hotspot to update credentials.
- Commission Locks: Use the dormakaba Lyazon Utility App to commission the locks. Follow these commissioning instructions.
-
Testing Lock Connectivity: After commissioning, test each lock to ensure communication with Lyazon cloud. For each lock, issue the keypad command: **1#
- Pass: 1 Blue flash and 1 Green flash
-
Fail: 1 Blue flash and 1 Red flash
- If the test fails, proceed to troubleshooting on page 2 of these commissioning instructions
- Do not proceed with commissioning until each lock is connected to Wi-Fi.
-
Map Locks with ButterflyMX: Contact SolutionsArchitecture@butterflyMX.com to confirm lock mapping.
- Please note: there are no credentials on your smart locks until they are mapped to your building in ButterflyMX so please keep locks unlocked and online until you are able to test credentials.
- !!Critical Dormakaba Firmware Updates!! Work with Solutions Architecture and Dormakaba Multi-family Housing Tech Support to update each lock to the latest firmware version while connected to the temporary network or mobile hotspot. Do not disconnect until all firmware has been updated and all mapping has been completed.
-
Important Notes:
- All locks must be on firmware 17.06 or later. Please coordinate with Solutions Architecture and Dormakaba Multi-Housing Tech Support to update while locks are online.
- Dormakaba ComID fobs used during construction mode will no longer function after commissioning.
- If you plan on using Dormakaba ComID fobs on your ButterflyMX intercoms or card readers, please reach out to our Support Team to run necessary firmware updates first.
- If you have an LZ-M (mortise) or LZ-L (latch) model, inform our Solutions Artchitecture Team if you wish to enable Auto-Relock.
- One-Touch Re-lock will be enabled by default on all devices. Refer to the dormakaba EVO LZ User Guide for additional information.
- Maintain an on-site dormakaba ELPS Battery Backup Device. This is crucial for ensuring lock access in the event of battery depletion.
- Dormakaba Technical Support: For any hardware issues with your locks, contact Dormakaba Multi-Housing Tech Support at 1-800-849-8324 (option 3) or mhtechnicalsupport.us@dormakaba.com.
