Overview
If a Dormakaba EVO LZ smart lock fails to commission and the door locks before setup completes, the lock will be unreachable in ButterflyMX and standard recovery options won't apply. The most common cause is a failed WiFi connection, which prevents the lock from downloading its initial programming.
Symptoms
- Lock does not appear online in ButterflyMX
- Remote unlock is unavailable
- Commissioning fails during setup
- Installer is locked out of the room
- **5# test returns a red result
Likely Cause
A red **5# result indicates a WiFi connectivity failure inside the lock. The internal cable on the right side of the unit connects both power and the WiFi board — if this connection is compromised, the lock cannot reach WiFi or complete provisioning.

- WiFi cable not fully seated
- Cable nicked or damaged
- Connector twisted or compromised
