Context
You can use Talkroute to route a ButterflyMX video intercom call to multiple team members at the same time. The first available person can answer the call and manage visitor access. This option may be useful for leasing offices, concierge desks, security teams, and after-hours coverage.
How it works
- A visitor selects the configured directory entry on the ButterflyMX intercom.
- The intercom places a standard telephone call to the Talkroute number assigned to that entry.
- Talkroute’s call or hunt group rings the designated team members simultaneously.
- A team member answers, speaks with the visitor, and presses 9 on the phone keypad to release the door.
What you need
- An active ButterflyMX intercom with a configured directory entry and phone-based door release enabled.
- A Talkroute account and plan that supports call or hunt groups.
- The phone numbers of the team members who should receive intercom calls.
Set up call routing
- Set up your Talkroute account and create a call or hunt group with the phone numbers of the team members who should receive calls.
- Enter your Talkroute telephone number as the destination for the appropriate ButterflyMX directory entry.
- Confirm that each designated phone rings and that pressing 9 on an answered call releases the door.
Important considerations
Talkroute is a third-party call-routing service, not a native ButterflyMX group-calling feature. Your property is responsible for setting up and managing the Talkroute account and paying any related monthly fees. Before setup, confirm current plan features, group size limits, and behavior directly with Talkroute.
