Overview
The Resideo T6 / T10 is a Wi-Fi connected thermostat that integrates with ButterflyMX to give residents control of their in-unit temperature directly from the ButterflyMX app. Before the ButterflyMX integration can be activated, the thermostat must be physically installed, connected to Wi-Fi, and registered using the ButterflyMX-provided Resideo login credentials.
⚠️ Important: Thermostats must be set up using the ButterflyMX-provided Resideo account credentials. If the thermostat is registered under a personal or property account, it will not auto-populate on the ButterflyMX platform.

Resideo T6 Pro or T10 Pro Wi-Fi Thermostat (installed and wired).
Reach out to your ButterflyMX representative to confirm compatibility. Please note we do not support Z-Wave models.
The ButterflyMX-provided Resideo account credentials (email + password) — provided by your ButterflyMX Implementation or Solutions team

Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1: Install the Thermostat
Ensure the T6 / T10 is physically installed and wired correctly per the Resideo installation guide. The thermostat screen should power on upon completion.

Step 2: Complete the Thermostat's On-Screen Setup
Follow the on-screen prompts on the T6 / T10 display to configure basic settings (system type, date/time, etc.)
When prompted to connect to Wi-Fi, select your 2.4GHz network and enter the password
The thermostat will confirm once connected to Wi-Fi
Follow relevant instructions to set ISU (Installer Setup Options) on the thermostat - T6 instructions / T10 instructions. You will need HVAC device details to set System/Equiptment type. Consult an HVAC installer for assistance, if needed.
Please note, ButterflyMX cannot change or verify ISU or HVAC settings remotely - this must be done on the device during programming by the installer.
Step 3: Download & Open the Resideo App
Download the Resideo app on your smartphone
Open the app and tap "Sign In"
Do NOT create a new account — log in using the ButterflyMX-provided credentials
📌 Reminder: Using the BMX-provided login is critical. This ensures the thermostat is registered under the correct account and will automatically appear in the ButterflyMX OS.
Step 4: Add the Thermostat in the Resideo App
Once logged in, tap the "+" icon or "Add Device"
Select "Thermostat" as the device type
Follow the in-app prompts — the app will search for and detect the T6 / T10 on the same Wi-Fi network
Confirm the pairing when prompted
Assign a name to the thermostat (be sure to match the name in Resideo to the unit naming in ButterflyMX, e.g., Unit 101)
Step 5: Verify the Device Connection & Functionality
Once added, the thermostat should appear in the Resideo app's device list
Confirm the status shows "Connected"
Test HVAC controls and confirm cold air for AC Mode and hot air for Heat Mode, if applicable. Ensure
Step 6: ButterflyMX Integration Activates Automatically
Once the thermostat is registered under the BMX Resideo account, ButterflyMX will automatically add the device — no additional steps are needed on the BMX OS side. The thermostat will appear in the resident's ButterflyMX app, allowing them to control temperature remotely. Property Managers can manage thermostat assignments from the Smart Home page in the ButterflyMX OS.
