Yale Assure Lock 2 locks require a dedicated 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n network. They are not compatible with Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Wi-Fi 6E, or Wi-Fi 7 — even if those access points also broadcast a 2.4 GHz SSID.
Modern Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 access points may apply advanced features (such as OFDMA, TWT, or BSS Coloring) that interfere with 802.11b/g/n IoT devices. If your property has upgraded to Wi-Fi 6 or newer hardware, work with your IT team or ISP to confirm a dedicated 802.11b/g/n-compatible 2.4 GHz SSID is available and advanced features are disabled on that SSID.

Avoid Mesh Networks: Mesh networks can significantly increase lock battery drain due to elevated network traffic as the lock frequently switches between access points.
Proximity to Access Point (AP): Ensure the AP is close to the lock. A weak signal can lead to frequent network reconnections, which also deplete battery life.
Unique SSID for APs: If using multiple access points (e.g., range extenders), configure each with a unique SSID. Identical SSIDs can cause the lock to "jump" between APs, similar to mesh networks, resulting in increased traffic and battery drain.
Sufficient DHCP Leases: Verify that enough DHCP leases are available for all wireless devices on site.
